Quality control at Sinsun Hardware begins with incoming wire rod. By utilizing steel from China's leading mills, such as Xingtai Iron & Steel, we can guarantee consistent chemistry, minimal inclusions, and predictable forming performance.

Our manufacturing technology utilizes German multi-station forming machinery and Taiwan-designed heading tools. The result is consistent head geometry, clean recess drives, and precise thread dimensions. These factors help prevent drive slippage, thread stripping, and installation delays on high-speed assembly lines.

Our four in-house heat treatment lines use controlled carbonaceous atmospheres to harden fasteners without decarburizing surface threads. This maintains surface hardness (HV 560-650 for self-tapping points) while keeping the core ductile (HRC 28-38) to absorb impact loads without fracturing.

What materials and steel grades are used for Sinsun fasteners? +
We use high-grade carbon steel (such as C1008, C1018, C1022, and 10B21 boron steel) for self-tapping, self-drilling, and wood screws. For high-tensile structural fasteners, we process medium-carbon and alloy steels. For highly corrosive environments, we manufacture parts using austenitic stainless steel grades, including SUS 304 and SUS 316.
How does Sinsun prevent hydrogen embrittlement in high-strength fasteners? +
All structural fasteners with core hardness levels above HRC 39 (such as Grade 10.9 and 12.9) undergo a post-plating baking process. The fasteners are baked in an oven at 200°C to 220°C for 4 to 24 hours (depending on dimensions and coating type) within 4 hours of electroplating. This allows atomic hydrogen to diffuse out of the steel structure, avoiding hydrogen-induced delayed brittle fractures.
Which anti-corrosion coatings are available for outdoor or marine use? +
We provide several surface treatments tailored to environmental conditions.
