Hot-dip galvanizing involves immersing the mesh in molten zinc, creating a thick (over 244 g/m²) zinc-iron alloy layer that chemically bonds with the steel. In contrast, electro-galvanization applies a thin (under 45 g/m²) layer of zinc that can easily scratch off, making it suitable only for dry indoor environments.
During the welding process, temperatures exceed 1200°C.
